Welcome Back, CBTECH Students & Families!
With the first day of school just around the corner, we are excited to welcome our students back and want to share some important information to ensure a smooth start to the year.
📅 First Day of School

  • The first day for CBTECH students is Wednesday, August 27th.
  • AM Session: 8:00 AM – 10:25 AM
  • PM Session: 11:20 AM – 1:40 PM
  • Important: All students, including those enrolled in Automotive and Cosmetology programs at Elegance and HBI, will report to the CBTECH campus on the first day of school.
🥪 Meals
  • Breakfast and lunch are FREE for all CBTECH students.
📌 Attendance
  • Attendance during the first few days is mandatory unless prior arrangements have been made. Missing these days may jeopardize enrollment, and students risk losing their spot at CBTECH if they do not attend.
  • If a student must be absent, parents/guardians should call our attendance line at (509) 793-7006. This line goes directly to voicemail. Please leave a detailed messageincluding:
    • Student’s first and last name
    • Reason for absence
    • Caller’s name and relationship to the student
  • If the message is unclear, the student will be marked absent.
  • Families may also email absences to cbtechattendance@mlsd161.org if that is more convenient.
👕 Uniforms
  • Students are required to wear the CBTECH uniform each day.
  • If a student forgets their uniform, a replacement shirt will be issued, and the cost will be added as a fine in their InTouch account
  • Jeans and hats are NOT ALLOWED.
  • Uniform costs are as follows:
    • T-shirt: $15
    • Long sleeve: $30
    • VGP polo: $20
  • Students do not need to bring money at the time of issue. Fees can be added to their account as a fine and paid throughout the year.
📵 Cell Phones & Electronics
  • Cell phones and electronic devices are not allowed during class.
  • Devices must be placed in a lock box or given to a teacher at the start of class.
  • Violations will result in the device being confiscated and held in the office. Students must meet with the Dean of Students before it is returned.
  • Repeat offenders will have their electronic devices taken away, and a parent/guardian will be required to come to the CBTECH office to pick up the device.
🚗 Student Drivers
  • Students who drive to CBTECH will be asked to complete a vehicle registration form for emergency purposes.
We look forward to an incredible school year and are excited to see you on the first day!
