On Oct. 30th, the Pro-Med/ Pre-Nursing class learned to do moulage.
Yes, it was a fun Halloween project, but moulage is really used for more than just Halloween and the movies. It helps simulate real wounds for emergency services disaster practice. Having patients with a card that states what is wrong with them during practice is great but having that patient with simulated wounds takes that practice to a whole new level.
The students had a great time. Some of them really got into it and did a great job.
